sorry, I know this is NZR, but everyone keeps asking over and over again. So I decided I needed to make a public announcement. Basically, I got a pretty good offer for the car from a friend of a friend. So to get rid of an extra car payment, I decided to sell it. There are tons of other factors that just made it the right decision to sell the RX-7 right now. I need to start saving money to get married and finally buy a freakin house. Also, the RX-7 was going to need A LOT of work very soon. The car had 75000 miles on it which is about the average life span of a modified RX-7. I'd say my RX-7 would have made it to about 90-100,000 miles. I didnt feel like spending all that money for a rebuild, new turbos, etc... That is A LOT of very expensive maintenance that I really cant fit into my budget right now. A rebuilt motor, turbos, injectors, and stuff would have cost me close to $10 grand! Besides, I should still see the car around. I'll be helping the guy along as he continues to build it. He plans on taking it to the next level. So it's all good. "I hope" anyway... for those of you that keep asking, I didnt pick the Z over the RX-7. I wasnt even trying to sell that car. Someone made me an offer, so I sold it. I still love RX-7's to death. They demand TONS of attention and maintenance, but the rewards are amazing. I already miss the amazing handling and quick acceleration of that car. "someday" when I can afford to, I will have a nice 1995 RX-7 if I can ever find one. Atleast thats what I keep telling myself to make me feel better. Who knows... I ended up with a 95 300ZX now so I guess there is hope. for now, I will enjoy my new "paid off" beater MR2 turbo. and of course my 300ZX.
